 Chicago's grooviest go-go gals

Keeks La Reine
(Kaara Kallen) troupe co-director

Picture
Keeks La Reine might be called The Bookish One, though she follows a strict daily regimen of removing her glasses, shaking her hair free of its bobby pins, and climbing onto her set of the Oxford English Dictionary for use as an impromptu go-go stage. In her spare time, Miss Keeks enjoys engaging in messy kitchen-based experiments.

Twister Storm
(Jacki Sinclair) troupe co-director

Picture
Twister Storm is an animal lover like no other. With monkey-shaped kitchenware, a trunk full of leopard- print frocks, and a penchant for adopting giant dogs, it’s only natural that songs like “Surfin’ Bird” and “Kitty Kat” are on heavy Revs rotation. Miss Storm’s fave go-go move is —quel surprise!--not the monkey or the pony, but the purple circle.

Lulu Bell
(Roxy Hernandez)

Picture
An electrician with local union 134 by day, Lulu Bell brings her live-wire watusi and her thousand-watt smile to the go-go stage by night. This chickadita bonita also gets a charge doing the jitterbug and jive with the Chicago swing scene. In addition to her cherry moves, the multi-talented Miss Lulu boasts outta site baking skills and a bodacious head for business.

Gin-ee Blossom
(Deb Ogden)

Picture
As a bona-fide jet-setting flight attendant, Gin-ee Blossom spends her glamorous days doing the diggidy over Dubai, the twist over Tuscany, and the swim over Sydney. When off duty, Miss Blossom enjoys collecting miniature booze bottles, not fetching coffee for anybody, and admiring how her groovy little flight suit looks with go-go boots.

Tutti Pony Love
(Terre Virgillio)

Picture
Tutti Pony Love was born into a large, loving family of Italian circus performers-slash-engineers. Known as the Rev with lengthiest daily to-do list, Miss Love spends what free time she has digging up wearable treasures at thrift stores, acting in local theater, teaching pregnant ladies how to downward-dog, and finding new ways to not sleep enough.

Twiggie Smalls
(Pamela Paul)

Picture
Twiggie Smalls dreams of a Soul Train line forming spontaneously in her local grocery aisle. This Brooklyn babe shimmied over to the Windy City in ‘09, and, while she thinks it's marvy, its breezes do play havoc with her vintage hair accessories. When not holding on to her hat, Miss Smalls can be found admiring Anna Pavlova, James Brown, Beto Perez, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Flirt Bacharach
(Jessica Hester)

Picture
When she's not cutting a rug or composing the scores to caper scenes in your favorite films, Flirt Bacharach devotes time to charity, helping long-haired, near-sighted guitarists live better lives through fashion therapy. This swellegant philanthropist unwinds after a long day in her gracious drawing room, enjoying harvey wallbangers and poker with your gramma.

Ginger Twist
(Jennifer Thornton)

Picture
When Ginger Twist isn't twisting her ginger locks, she's straightening out pilates clients, shaping up arts organizations, and swinging from a trapeze with the greatest of ease. Born a farmer's daughter in a southern country henhouse, Miss Twist remains an aficionado of farm-fresh food — but isn't planning on trading in her big-city boogie-boots for a hometown hoedown any time soon.
